An amiable town built in the Sword Coast style. Many buildings are newly built, and most of the townspeople of the colony are fairly young and hardy.

Founder's Falls adheres to the Founder's Falls Town Charter. Enforcement of laws is carried out by the Knights of the Shield, and the creation of laws is carried out by the Founder's Falls Council. Various positions can be held, including:

Commander of the Knights of the Shield: The Commander of the Knights of the Shield shall be responsible for the guidance and direction of the Knights of the Shield. The Commander shall be responsible for the recruitment, ranking, training, and commanding of the Knights of the Shield. The Commander has free reign over his men, and is expected to keep those who would commit serious crime within the Falls from the ranks of the Knights of the Shield. Those who seek this position should have a record of exemplary service within the Knights of the Shield and the skills required to manage the dual nature of the Knights as both a check on the criminals within our walls, and an aegis against those who would attack from outside them.

This position is currently held by Rettig.

Grimwarden: The Grimwarden of the falls shall be responsible for the upkeep of our crypt, ensuring the proper burial of our dead, and keeping the crypt locked tight in the hours after dark. The Grimwarden will also be responsible with keeping a logbook of our fallen containing the names of our dead and their cause. Those who seek this position should have a fair understanding of the varied biologies represented by the different Races that make up the population of the falls. None with a record of serious criminal acts within the Falls may be the Grimwarden.

This position is currently shared by Ronon Darkholme and Polidori.

Cropmaster: The Cropmaster shall be responsible for the administration of our agricultural efforts on the island. In addition to directing what is to be planted and how the farms are to be managed. A population cannot grow on an empty stomach, and it will be the important duty of the Cropmaster for feeding the population. The Cropmaster is also expected to work with the Knights of the Shield to defend out fields from those who might vandalize them. The Cropmaster will also be in charge of hiring and ordering those who would work in the fields. Those who seek this position should have a fair understanding of agriculture and the care of plants.

The position is currently held by Jonathan Damiarch.

Commissioner of the Ecclesiastic: Commissioner of the Ecclesiastic is perhaps the most challenging of the offices of the falls as it conveys a great deal of responsibility with little to no authority. The Commissioner of the Ecclesiastic is responsible for bringing the concerns of the religious community of the Falls to the council, as well as acting as the voice for the leaders of each faith to the council. The Commissioner of the Ecclesiastic will also be responsible for overseeing the construction of new churches, and maintaining the grounds of the religious complex that is currently under construction. Again, this position does not offer the authority to command the clergy of the colony, but rather the responsibility of representing their wishes and acting as a religious advisor to the Council. Those who seek this position must have a great deal of patience and an expansive knowledge of the faiths of this realm.

Harbormaster: As our colony grows, we will become more of an economically viable stop for trading ships and explorers making their way further across the Trackless Sea. It is not hard to predict that we will eventually begin to see more nautical travel to our colony. To that end the council will be taking on a Harbormaster, who will be responsible for managing ships as they come into our dock, ensuring tariffs are paid by trade ships who reach our isle, and recording the manifests of all ships arriving and departing from our port. The Harbormaster is also expected to hire and manage a small dock crew to aid ships coming into our port. The Harbormaster is expected to work with the Knights of the Shield to ensure the security of our ports. Those who seek this position should know something of seafaring, economics, and ship construction.

Legate to the Council: This office carries with it two main duties. First of all the Council often finds itself pulled in every direction by the troubles that arise in Founder’s Falls. For this reason, the Council does not get the chance to meet as often as it would like, nor does it get the opportunity to sit and listen to the concerns of the citizenry as often as it should. To this end, the council has the need for an assistant to act as its ears, as well as a messenger. The Legate carries no authority unless granted temporary authority by a member of the council, rather acting as a secretary and a messenger between the council members. Secondly, the council is in need of someone who can welcome new arrivals to the colony, show them the city if they so desire, and explain to them how to find our laws and where to sign up as resident. This is also the duty of the legate, who can be found working tirelessly to assist the council in making this city all it can be.
